Installing Irie Pascal 2.6 (Solaris/x86 Edition)

Before attempting to install Irie Pascal 2.6 (Solaris/x86 Edition), please make sure that your computer meets the following minumum requirements:

  • Solaris/x86.
  • 1 MB disk space.
  • HTML viewer/browser to access the documentation.

Recommended Installation Procedure

Irie Pascal 2.6 (Solaris/x86 Edition) is distributed as a compressed archive (i.e. ips-eval.tar.Z or ips-260.tar.Z).

The suggested installation procedure is as follows:

  1. Log in to Solaris/x86 as root.
  2. Create a directory to store Irie Pascal (e.g. /usr/local/irie).
  3. Copy the archive into this directory.
  4.  Uncompress the archive, using:
     uncompress ips-eval.tar.Z.

    or

     uncompress ips-260.tar.Z.
  5. Extract the files, using:
     tar xf ips-eval.tar

    or

     tar xf ips-210.tar
  6. Copy the executables (i.e. ipc and ivm) into a suitable directory (e.g. /usr/local/bin), which is in the path.

Uninstalling Irie Pascal 2.6 (Solaris/x86 Edition)

Irie Pascal 2.6 (Solaris/x86 Edition) does not make any behind the scenes modifications to your system or install any files on your hard disk, so uninstalling is very simple, just erase the files.
